Good Morning George

Mark, this is a no charge event for paid up Nissan 4x4 Club members only.... If someone wants to join the club on the day, they are welcome to do that ( please bring R200 with for a years membership).... if I'm correct you joined last weekend???

Guys, this event is probably the MOST IMPORTANT event of the year !!! let me put it this way..... you don't go to the
toilet for a no 2 without toilet paper...... and the same applies to the sport of 4x4 driving .... You don't want to go
on a trail or overland without the correct tools.

You may never need it .... but in the last few events, Myself and Grant have been involved with 3 recoveries on 3
different vehicles.... 2 of these recoveries were done (and I hate to admit it    ) incorrectly. This has to change, we
(Nissan 4x4 Club) are responsible adults, and a death or serious injury is NOT going to happen on this new
committee's watch. :oldtimer: :oldtimer:

Please bring you vehicles, even if you have NO recovery points or straps or shackles. All we want to achieve is an
awareness. From here, you as a responsible driver can slowly build up a recovery kit or look at getting a RATED
recovery point.

One thing that needs to be remembered. The person who is going to do the recovery has FULL right to abandon the
recovery if he/she feels that it is not a safe recovery. This could leave you stranded in the mud hole, donga, on a
mountain cliff, desert or forest.

I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL CLUB MEMBERS AT THIS EVENT !!!

Cedric.
I would like to suggest that club the starts compiling a set of recovery notes/rules. This can be developed over time and made available to all members. Rope theory is also important, but now I am probably off the topic.

Yip.... there is something like that in the pipeline, to which we ( Nissan club ) will piggy back as set standards to 4x4 driver competency.

Directions to Scorpion....

Taken from Google earth...
Travelling north on Main road ( R55 ) passed Kyalami Race track, straight over the robot, and about 1.5 km further north on the left is a small sand entrance.
