Hi, I am looking to go to Bots soon. More details would be appreciated - although have heard some disturbing news about them closing the parks to privateers??

First night Bray a long drive 1200km then Ghanzi Hotel 1 night Maun Audi Camp 1 night
then 3 nights Third Bridge, 1 night Savuti , 4 nights Ihaha ,2 nights Vic Falls Hotel not cheap but
something you must do.
From there we headed home Francistown via Zim roads fine,Thabazimbi,Bloem,Sedgefield.
Plenty road blocks in Zim they all asked for fire extinguisher nothing else a bit odd.

We bought all our meat in Maun, 3 Spars,Woolworths food,Chappies etc. Even a Nissan dealer which fixed my indicator no charge.Beef cheaper than SA. Fillet R79.00kg.Petrol 8.69l Pula.Campsite at Third Bridge well run and friendly staff ,hot water.Savuti and Chobe run by different operator not as good. Its best not to expect to much then anything extra is a bonus.
Generator runs all night at Savuti otherwise nice campsite. Ask for site on the channel as it
is flowing at the moment. Elephants threw campsites.Chobe Ihaha great views over water. Take lock for refuse
bin otherwise monkeys make a mess. Police patrol river front at night for Namibians coming over to steal.
But we had no problems. Before we went I heard about the new regulations at Chobe Waterfront Area
so we phoned and made the necessary booking and got confirmation number no charge.
But when we arrived at Chobe nobody said anything about new rules no boards or signs at all.
So there was no restrictions for us anyway. Maybe holiday season will be different.
Kasane also has all the shops you need had great curry at Indian restaurant opposite Spar.
Vic Falls Hotel was great service, breakfast was the best and rooms really worth it after camping.
Went to Safari Lodge for a beer 6 dollars US .VIc Falls Hotel 3 dollars US.
Take your own raincoat and umbrella to Falls otherwise 6 dollars.
