Madman engine monitoring system

Does anyone have any experience of fitting these units to their Patrol? I live in the UK but take the Patrol to North Africa quite often and am planning a trip to SA and Namibia next year. I have emailed the company twice but have had no response. They don't seem interested in selling me one. Either that or they can't be fitted to Patrols. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Transnamib, there are many local guys with Madman in their patrols, so it's certainly possible.
I guess the difficult part of the process is fitting the various censors for the parameters you want to measure, thereafter any competent auto-electrician should be able to install the unit.
I suggest you speak to race-car-prep shops, there are many of them in the UK who will be able to assist you!

Hi,
Very easy to fit. I have a 96 GQ diesel with a safari turbo, and the Madman I have setup looks after the EGT, oil pressure, oil temprature, coolent level and temprature, as well as the charging system. Relatively easy to fit. Coolent sensor was a slight problem. Instruction manual is very good. Great system and works very well.

Hi! Grant,
Goei More!!
I have installed a similar device called
ENGINE WATCHDOG TM2 on my vehicle. I bought it over the internet in AUSTRALIA. It was dilevered to me right away and I had it installed in preparation for the hot summer days here Spain. Their service personell are very nice too. If you are in a hurry I suggest you give them a call and they will send it urgently. It comes in a small A4 Sized protected envelope and delivered to you by Airmail. It´s price is worth much less that changing your transmission or engine block, which I suffered once upon a time. This is why I bought the unit right away.
I am very happy with it´s results. The display shows you the tempreture of your engine and the tempreture of your transmission even in the dark, then there is one extra wire that you can connect that leads to the oil temp too. I did not have that one installed.
What I really need to know for my TROLL is the engine block tempreture, due to the high heating it creates on the last piston on the end. I normally get a reading of 78º C during normal drives in the city and I get 85º to 90º deg. on the highway. I feel so much safer with this device on my TROLL because it warns me if I pushing my engine too much. When the unit reaches a desired warning level it starts to blink and create a loud noise to warn you about the tempreture even beore the "Original" temp guage of your vehcle even moves. I find this very accurate and it can save you a lot of money before you wreck your transmission or Engine block. Remember to tell them if you want your unit in Cel. or Deg. they sell both.
