Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Gents - -I know the Terrano is not a Patrol [Baby midget Patrol, maybe] - BUT we have just been informed that the turbo on Dwergie's Terrano, [Kordaat] has cracked the wastegate housing..
Does anybody know of a 2nd hand [usable] one floating somewhere??

Try Turbonetics in in the South? I had my Terrano's turbo serviced there when I bought the car as a precaution when I bought, as the car had skipped 5 services. They initially wanted to replace my housing but eventually said all was well. With housing the quote was around 7k. I THINK the name is Turbonetics...they just past South Gate.

Herrie - norty...my Terrano used to do 150 on the GPS without issues. All the way to 240k km with smiles. I think ChristoSlang is right

Saw my Terrano recently (after 4 years) still driving, no smoke nothing. Lucky owner.

I took teh turbo to TURBOWORKS in Centurion.. they inspected it and returned with :"THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TURBO"
I pointed out that SAC diagnosed a crack in te wastegate - they showed my a number of other turbos with far worse cracks [ughmmm -- stadig nou Arries, ons praat van die TURBO hier...]
Though it was NOT neccesary Iopted to have the "kit" replaced - as the turbo was out and on teh bench anyway -- aftyer discount, cost R1700 [AS opposed to R12 500 that SAC quoted to replace...
I am disappointed in SAC on this one - and will tell them so - I have forever promoted them on this and all other forums where I participate -- one would think that they know by now when a turbo is shot - or not ???

Anyway -- there still is a power loss on the Terri - and that we have to find ASAP - somwhere it leaks air or compression

But as for turbo -- Thanx everyone - turbo is now fine. [was, all the time]

I have arranged with TurboWorks to have an "open day" where they will give us Nissan Owners a talk through on caring for our turbo's..
