Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Anyone looking for a bit of everything on a trail, the top loop on matroosberg is it! The rain has made it nice and Patrol friendly.. Oh yes do the loop clockwise. Wrongway!

Matroosberg offers a lot, it has become expensive though. Most people ever only does Matroosberg when it snows. It is however a very nice route to do in the dry. The top circular route is challenging enough and execellent camping is available on top.

I dont think too many people are going to take their R400000 vehicle up there, unless they are on maintenance plan of course

Ian, went up there in the Patrol still stock standard. Got a few knocks on the running boards but appart from that it was a walk in the park.

It was however not quite that easy for the Defender that went with

Jacques, I actually prefer Matroosberg in the dry. Beautiful views and a nice trail.

Agree!! Lovely campsite in the Dennebos & the views (and route) up there is awesome!

Winter too crowdy, too wet & slippery, poor vision, limited access, etc.

Bottom line = An absoute GREAT 4x4 trail...!!
