I had the Maus conversion done, it consists of the 76mm cheetah exhaust ( which is load and drones at low revs), the chip and dyna tune.
I am happy with the results, on a recent 5200km trip through Namibia, towing an offroad trailer at 120km ( on clock), with a roofrack and rooftop tent, I averaged 5km/lt.
I have found that if I keep it at 120kms, it does 5km/lt, towing or not ( but with the roof rack and roof top tent).
the big improvement is that with steel bumpers and all the extra weight, the Maus conversion helps to offset the loss of performance. At sea level with the Trolle unpacked it is amazing!!!!!! :woo:

Hi Babelaas!

Wat is jou ondervinding met die MAUS Conversion tot nou toe? Ek neem aan jy het die STAGE 1 Conversion van hulle gedoen wat net die exhaust en chip is? Geen branches? :eureka:
Sover ek weet is hul die Nissan experts? :think:


En weet enige iemand of the UNICHIP Q enige skade aan die engine kan doen oor langtermyn?

Jacques, al wat 'n chip doen is om mens toe te laat om die bestaande en vasgestelde verstellings te verander.

Van hierdie verstellings kan 'n enjin ernstig beskadig mits hulle buite sekere perke val. Fit is dus die kennis en vernuf van die man wat die verstellings doen, wat bepaal beide hoeveel beter die kar gaal loop as hoe die betrubaarheid en brandstofverbruik geaffekteer word.

Weet maar net dat iewers iets gaan inboet.

As jy met Graham Cumming (in Valhalla) praat sal hy vir jou tien-teen-een sterk aanbeveel dat jy jou Patrol so standaard as moontlik moet hou.
Die mods klink goed en verbeter soms die werkverrigting, maar lei gewoonlik tot betroubaarheids- of ander probleme bv oorverhitting, ens in die lang termyn.

Soos ek verstaan kan Freeflow tot hoër onder bonnet temperature lei, veral as jy met die branches begin foeter.

Kyk kom ek se vir jou so.....as jou manifold nie gebreek is nie los die branches ......die jappies met die dik brille weet hoe om engines te bou ....daai manifold is n 3 into 2 into 1 maw hy werk klaar soos n branch as jou kar n cat het haal hom uit en vervang die groot box agter met n free flow . Toe ek daai roete wou gaan het ek almal gebel en met almal gepraat en die mense by maus het vir my gese as ek geld het om te mors moet ek die manifold vervang die manne by vanderlinde het dieselfde gese . Van die ander plekke het gese hulle waarborg klomp verbeterings maar ek dink hulle wil net jou geld vat . Die ander probleem is underbonnet temps . Die maniffold het covers ect om die warm lug onder die kar deur te stoot met behulp van die fan . Verder is daar nuckels op die manifold om beweeging van die motor en flex in die body op te vat . Kyk maar daar is shocks op jou engine so hulle beweeg baie .
Ek dink wat jy gaan kry met die kombinasie tussen snorkel en net n free flow beteken baie meer as n brancch en gaan nie n verskil op die dino wys nie maar gaan betroubaarheid inboet .

Stem saam oor die branches maar die exhuast agter na die boxse toe kan maar beter gemaaak word sonder probeeme

So as ek freeflow slegs gaan en die cats uithaal sal als nog reg wees en ek behoort niks in te boet met betroubaarheid nie?
