Defender vs Patrol

Not the result I would expect. Anyone care to objectively comment?

May the road be long.. and dirty.

Objective? Owed same Patrol , had a Puma for 2 weeks test

remember Patrol 3.0 di vs 110 Puma IN STD FORM, this is what this test/comparrison was for
Engines , Grenade vs highest mileage diesel engine in europe, 110 wins
Comfort , Patrol all the way by far , light years difference
Interior , Patrol like above all the way
Packing space , sorry I disagree 110 wins
Traction, 110 wins, ek is hier 110% seker daarvan
Articulation, no contest 110 wins
Towing , 110 wins
Gearbox , 110 wins
Economy , 1110 wins
Running cost , Nissan Patrol in SA dont have any indies for parts etc, L/Rover in all major centres, parts MUCH MUCH cheaper then Nissan
Safety , Patrol all the way.
Longetivity, well well well , 110 will look old after 1 year , but after 30 still going and still looks great

Yes I like both vehicles, would like the Patrol more if they change the engine, and gearbox

What's on my wishlist a GELANDENWAGEN by far

I have never owned a Landy, although I have a fair amount of experience with various older Series landies.

I have however encountered Defenders on the local trails frequantly and I am sorry Koos but I find myself in disagreement with you where articulation and traction are concerned. We idle up and through obstacles where the defenders either just won't go or struggle badly. The obstacles in question are muddy cross-axles and also loose wet shale with fixed steps.

I also still struggle to understand why the Gelandewagen has such a great reputation. In my opinion one could do much better for the money.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Mirrag aan allemal

I also have never owned a Landy but have friends with Landy's and have driven with them some rather scary stuff where the Landy just kept on climbing like a tarantulla spider, I have great respect for a Defender I think it is an awesome vehicle, I have also driven areas with my Patrol that I would have been to scared to drive another vehicle because I have faith in my Patrol.
