Howzit

Bought the Patrol 2 weeks ago - it is an import from Scotland (actually a friend originally brought it in). The first thing I noticed as I started using the Trol is the unbelievable ability to drink petrol - but we'll get to that later.

Glad to be here.

Welcome Ernst

There is only one way to fix the fuel consumption on these things: Fit a bigger fuel tank and develop a sense of humour at the fuel pumps.

On a slightly lighter note, the nice thing about it is that with most other vehicles the fuel consumption skyrockets in difficult off-road conditions, but in the 4.2 patrols, it sometimes even improves. The best figures I have ever recorded was through the sand of the Central Kalahari Game reserve.

Hi Ernst,

Welcome to the forum! Enjoy the patrol and as Peter said the only way to get around the fuel consumption is to joke about it.

Cheers
Rudolph

Hi All

Thanks for the welcome. I see on other posts that Kagiso II is big on pictures. Then this is my promise - I will make a plan to get pictures on soon. The only two that I have is sitting on my phone (a photo at Durban Harbour and another in front of a 8x8 monster (Unimog se dinges hoor) built to pull eskom transformers on 240 wheel trailers). Who knows, maybe I can get some photos from when it was still in the UK (Scottish countryside).

Till later.
