Hi All.
Please advise..Very sad for me!. I have been offered R125000-00 for my car. It has 252xxx km's on the clock. I have no idea of what they usually sell for. I unfortunately have to sell my patrol...it is just becoming to expensive to run (Petrol) I am spendingR6200-00 per month on fuel. I do a lot of travelling and I'm starting to rack up the km's with change at work..I dont want to have to maintain two vehicles (i am buying another vehicle) and not sure that i can pay insurance and maintenance on both!
So basically will keep the patrol till I get the price that it should be sold for... any ideas on that price?
Thanks,
Margo

Hey Margo, maybe aim a little higher but keep in mind fuel hikes will affect your sale!
Cheers

If my reply means that you sell the 'Trol and that that means you gonna vanish from the scene her ... ek shurrup en hou my smoel en sprak geen woord and on top of that I will not say a word [maybe grunt, but not say ...}
I'd guess around R156 000 as starting price - accept "down bargaining to R140 000 [But then, if you have the offer and it is firm and it as CASH and no trix-n-strings and you don't have to caryany guarantees [make it vboetstoots] - the go for it, coz not many can fork-up R140 thou +++ in ready cash for wheels.

Russ - the lady wants to cut on fuel & driving costs - how is a "non-turbo" [ERGO a 4.2 Diesel going to make a noticable difference to the 4.5 she now drives?
serious - not trying to be funny, but unless she starts crawling along at >80 - the month end bill of her current 6000 won't even make a R250 difference?
Margo - You need a POLO "blue motion"
20 ++ K/m per litre - 5 l x 100 km IN TOWN & about

Bought myself a 1999 4.5GRX (251 000 km on clock) last year. Best trade in offered to owner was R85 000; I paid R 90 000 in the end. Book value was R 128 000 last year, R 122 000 this year.

Margo, "mothball" the Patrol and place it in longterm storage...and forget about it. Buy youself your little commuter in the meantime. In 5 years time your family will be pleasently surprised when you (by them ok with the fuel bill...)pull out that beast from the freezer for a African overland trip.....!@#$

Margie = What happened to the oke who made the offer in the first place?
What trade-in have you been offered on say : Suzuki Vitara / Jimny / Terios [NOOooooooo - I did NOT mention rav4

If your pocket allows - JG has VERY sound advice - but then use the patrol for the 4x4 4 kids excursions, join our crowd now & then for a ride-out. [That is having your cake & eating it en soos om jou brood aan twee kante gebotter te hĂȘ...
