Gauteng Mechanic For 3.0D

Does anyone have a recommendation for a mechanic for a Patrol 3.0D (2005)?
My experience with Nissan dealerships is that they are incompetent when it comes to this engine. I have gone through 5 turbos, an intercooler, an engine rebuild, a new engine all under warranty. The Patrol has been a lot better lately, but it is out of wattanty. This weekend the motor started making a loud exhaust note under power which I suspect is related to the intercooler, but I am nervous to take it to a Nissan Dealership. Any recommendations would be apprecated.
Thanks

Hello
Man with that kind of bad luck I might have driven a Cruiser by now.
Not to state the obvious but there should be a one year warranty on any repair by the Nissan Dealer ?
My Patrol blew the Vacuum pump and I took it to Ben at Edenvale Nissan. He did very well on my Patrol.
Regards
Izak

Thanks,
I took it to McCarthy in Woodmead. The service manager very kindly had a look and came for a test drive with me, but I couldn't get it to misbehave. They are not sure what it is, diagnostic didn't pick anything up, but most likely the turbo wastegate actuator getting stuck. I am not convinced that they were very experienced in this engine though - they struggled to find the intercooler...I think I might pull it apart on the weekend and see what I can find in there...

Ya, but what do I replace it with - Can't afford a Cruiser, can't afford to run a petrol...I love the layout and space of the Patrol, pity about the hand grenade under the bonnet...
Back to a Defender?

So, I am no closer to finding a decent non Nissan mechanic with experience in hand grenades

Unfortunately the solution to the ZD30 engine problems will not be found in "good" mechanics. I doubt that "good" mechanics will advertise as being experts in the ZD30 engine since that will destroy their reputation, hence no refernces/referrals. The only comments I ever had from "good" mechanics about my ZD30 was: "STAY AWAY!".
