Bainage, Zululand

Since the tragic passing away of Chad Bain late last year the Bainage 4x4 facility outside Empangeni had not seen any real use and had become seriously overgrown. Chad's father wanted to get the track back to a usable state, which is where our own Jules stepped in. He organised a bunch of local 4x4 enthusiasts to go out with vehicles and pangas and open the track up again. It was a fun filled afternoon in the glorious Zululand autumn. Here are some pictures:

Imvubu climbing a loose, undulating hill with ease (rear diff lock not engaged). Lesser vehicles battle here without a locked rear diff...

Jules' lovely wife tackling the same hill; she handles the GQ with flair.

Imvubu immitating its namesake and splashing into the Mhlatuze river.

Imvubu on the way out of the river.

Jules' GQ on the way into the river. Note that that is NOT a Blue Bulls shirt that Jules is wearing...

Jules' GQ (Y60), my Y61 Series 1 and Thys' Y61 Series 4 on a sand bank on the other side of the river.

Imvubu climbing back out of the river.

Jules' GQ in a shot that shows the general lie of the land.

Thys' Y61 showing off a little bit of flex while parked at the end of the route. There is plenty more where that came from
