Thanks Frans,
I'll prob deal with Claremont branch, is that the one in Lansdown road,. cause when i was there to pick up a part a month or two ago, i asked them if they worked on any patrols and the guy said only one maybe two for servicing, so i have my doubts about any major mechanical work under warranty, should i need it done? Your thoughts?
Best
Russ

Hi Russ
Is your vehicle still under guarantee and therefore you are stuck with Nissan dealers and workshops? If your answer is YES, then read part A.
If the answer is NO, and you can go wherever you like, then read part B.
Part A:
Imperial Nissan in Parow is supposedly one of the better dealerships around. They have had 2 chances to look at my 4.8 and although there is a fair bit of enthusiasm for the Patrol, I was not that impressed by what they actually achieved. Jokkie de Roubaix (group workshop manager) is knowledgeable on things Patrol though.
JB's Nissan in Malmesbury is one clean and tidy workshop with a very enthusiastic young mechanic who is prepared to listen, ask questions if he is not sure and the result was that I was happier with their service than with Parow's. Problem is that you have to schlep out to Malmesbury. They do have a courtesy car service though, which you book when making a service booking.
Part B:
JB's Auto in Parow Industria.
I had Johan Meyer have a look at the Patrol in preparation of our June-July Kgalagadi and Botswana trip.
What a pleasure to deal with someone who puts his name on the line when he tackles a job.
The car came back driving the way I expected it to when I purchased it! All the bits were checked, adjusted, fixed and he even made an anti-rollbar tie-down bracket as it got lost somewhere! My Patrol will definitely go back to him for maintenance that I do not / want not / cannot do myself!
Johan did his apprenticeship on Toyotas and is known as Mr Cruiser. And lets face it, there is not that much difference between a Cruiser and a Patrol.
Well, this is my take.
Hope you get sorted
Herbie
