84 Patrol 2 door, suspension help

Leaf springs have been softened too much. It bottoms on every bump. What you all suggest to, 1- get it to ball park which is smooth on road and off. 2- raise it about 3 -4 Inches. I don't have access to all those fancy after market parts. So I have to manufacture something for it. What you all think about adding some small cars coil springs to it 
Perhaps changing the whole thing to an coil system 
I wish to have the ride of an old Range rover on this car 
Anyone knows a place where I can get how to's and pics about this car 
It really is a nice 4x4. Better than jeeps and some others.
