The hospital part doesn't sound good.....

.... I hope nothing serious.
Silly question.... whats wrong with the hubs you currently have fitted?

My mother is very ill cancer and chemo therapy related complications.
As for the hubs, what I've gathered is that they are worn Cos of slipping when going up steep slopes! And the agent ones are just plain too expensive almost R 6000 FOR ONE SIDE!

Sorry to hear about your mom chemo mate... hope all goes well.
Sorry, but I'm a bit doff regarding the hubs slipping. If both front wheels are on the ground and you are in 4x4 (H or L) then yes, both front wheels must rotate evenly, but if one tyre has less grip than the other, the that tyre will turn and the other will stay stationary as there is no diff lock on the front wheels (power transfers follows the easiest route). Is this not what is happening on your Patrol?

If it was only that, with both wheels on the ground with firm and good grip up a steep rocky incline you can actually hear the hub locks slip makes a clacking noise and they stop turning and all the power goes to the rear! And this in 4L with rear diff lock on! I need to get this sorted for I'm going to Baviaans some time in December!

Andre, good luck with your mom.
Have you tried cleaning the hubs and putting in new grease? Also, have you tried manually locking them?
The dog that engages drive is spring-loaded, and if it's dirty it could be that it's just not engaging properly?

Jip cleaned.greased manually locked and eventually I even removed the bits that lock them automatically it was slightly better But still not fixed. When I had them out it looked like the teeth in the hubs where worn badly!
Thank you its a difficult route for me and especially my dad and brother But with alot of faith things Will work out for the better.

Hey Cedric Ag jong unfortunately going nowhere, put the motor back together and back in my trol But the radiator that was made did not fit at all and the guy who's building my manifold still isn't finished so I'll have to wait till next year when everyone is over the silly season and working again. Luckily my patrol pickup is running brilliantly like always so I'll be using it to go where I want to! How are things on your side?

Ross replaced his hubs after a recent catastrophic failure his suffered. He replaced them with manual hubs that cost him ~R1000 for the set. He got the parts from a spot in JHB, so drop him a PM, maybe he can help you out with some info.
