Please keep us posted on the progress and what your plan is with the engine rebuild Christo. I agree with what you said, it must be built the right way this time.
Very interesting document on piston damage assessment and possible causes...... worth reading

I spoke to Graham just now - block, crank, head & pistons are with the engineering shop for assessment. One they've completd their measurements, we'll know which bits are reusable and which ones need replacement. Then we'll start soourcing replacement parts...
Thanks for the link to the doc - one of the best guides I've seen in a long time

You can also cut the cams to a stage 2 .... while its all apart..... Speak to Frans about that, gives a lot more power for free. I'm actually sorry that I didn't do mine at the time... but I was tight on time !!

Hmmm.... won't I need high-lifting door handles and twin overhead rear-view mirrors to complement that camshaft mod?

Graham received some sad news from the engineering guys yesterday. The cylinder block is cracked, and so is the head...
I'm afraid that no amount of re-building or re-sleeving will fix that engine
