Cor+patrol4.8=Cor of patrol4.8
Sorry, ok maar lekker stupid. Corneulis, is jou patrol ligter op brandstof?

Ek weet nog nie of hy beter is op brandstof nie maar volgens Kosie Swanepoel was hy nogal baie ryk gestel.
As ek kyk na jou verbruik dan is jou Patrol dalk nie so ryk soos myne nie.

Nou na twee weke se ry met die free flow kan ek met reg se dat daar wel 'n verskil is in die krag van die patrol. Die kar voel ligter en dis al hou ek dit kan beskryf. Low down torq voel defnitief beter en die rpm's val net weg hier van 4000rpm :woo: In sort , the 4.8 sound with the with the feel of light weight gives you hoendervleis (chicken poks, no goose bumps) O.K what ever. All I can say it makes a differance with my 4800GL manual

Jis this is an old thread!
Personally (with hind sight  )I would not do it again as the relative gains are too small. The free flow I did at Powerflow was exceptional quality and the sound is amazing but...
... there was zero fuel saving
... I am now more aware when the torque converter's lockup disengages and the revs go from 2000 to 2500

I think the car was more refined before the change.

Thanks for honest feedback, was it only free flow or also chip?

On the Prado I have freeflow branch with free flow exhaust [63 mm] with DASTEK chip, Vanderlinde head-flow & cams .. and the extra power is MASSIVE and at 120 my fuel droped from between 16 - 18 Liter 100km down to 13 - 14 per 100km
Now towing those [overloaded] 2 tonne trailers toe Botswana and beyond is a pleasure .. not punishment

Worth it ?? Helll YES

downside? ugmm ughmm .. yes .. speedfines are BIGGER. Self control to stick toe 120 - 125 ... eisjj, sal my na ROOK dryf.
in 4x4, I tend to use too much paddle in too low gears .. causing "sit vas' getting stuch ..

No chip - just the big silencer changed to a free-flow as all the others are already free-flow.

If your car has a CAT take it out .....leave the chip and branches. ....proper flow helps especially when towing

Just need to check, by only removing CAT and affixing similar diameter pipe, will it not effect performance / back pressure. So I guess I'm asking whether one can just remove CAT and then continue driving or should the Vehicle be taken for additional "tuning"?
