I"m sure its not as good product as OME or other name brands, but for 20% of their price it makes it worth something to try.
If it was me I would get them made and buy matching Gabriel shocks. The rear setup would probably work out to R3,000 R3,500 give or take for springs and shocks. In front I would fit a name brand setup as I feel they are much more importang on a pickup
If Tinus cant brake his on his Hulux over the last year it cant be that bad, and he takes overloading to a new level.

The problem is the rear of a hilux is a different kettle of fish to the rear of the patrol / land cruiser.
Hilux is / will never be expected to carry the mass and weight of these vehicles, nor should it.
The biggest issue with this though, is that the hilux runs very flat rear leaf packs in comparison to the patrol (Spring over axle),it also runs far fewer leafs. They are much easier to set to personal taste, than trying to set the huge arc required for the patrol (being a Spring under axle), as well as match the 8-10 differnt blades typically found in the patrols...
I had a leaf pack made for me when i had both of my hilux's, i used them on one of the hilux's and they ended up a true disappoiuntment. The ONLY person i would trust this task to , possibly even for my patrol, is Darryl from MIKEM. the only thing that had stopped me was that im based in CT and would need him to fine tune the packs, and offer an aftermarket service, for which he is renowned for.
Mikem is jhb based, perhaps talk to him for a quote then...

I would love to put tough dog big bore adjustable shocks in my patrol, even if its just the rear shocks. They would be perfect for the different ways i use my truck.
That price is outrageous . Rand exchange has clearly boned us hard.

At least you got a quote.... i have emailed opposite lock on 3 or 4 occasions over a period of 4 months trying to get a quote for a full kit, or even just certain parts,... and what reply did i get?... nothing. Not even a hello, no we dont want your money, go away. Pathetic. Made me wonder how good their after sales service would be if they cant even sell me something, never mind fix it.
still, call me mad, but i would seriously like to have the Tough dog adjustable rears.
When the B51 remote res OME shocks come out, i wonder what we we will be paying for those in SA? surely they gonna be less than Fox / Bilstein / King etc...
