I need to correct an earlier statement now that I have double checked with Terrain Tamer...I do not have variable rate coils for the front of the Troll, I have linear rate coils. TT doesn't yet supply variable rate coils for the Troll (of my weight?). Feedback from TT "We do a 300-500 kg progressive spring and a 100-300kg version as well. These will be to light for your vehicle.", so the latter may be more useful information for the guys who are not as loaded as I am.

Last week I received the final piece of the suspension puzzle and fitment is planned for the 16th March 2021. I received my drop boxes from Piet Connan for R3500 and they are an excellent piece of kit.
So in summary this is what I am going to have fitted to the vehicle:
- 2" lift kit from Terrain Tamer (see details from earlier post). This includes a steering damper with a return-to-centre coil, pre-tensioned to keep the solid front axle running straight as opposed to the typical "slight pull to the left".
- OEM rubber bushes for front radius arms. I am remove the polyester caster correction bushes, which is possible due to the fitment of the drop-boxes.
- Drop boxes
- Boss bolt-in rear braces for rear coil towers. Imported from Australia via Patrolapart website for an approximate total landed cost of R10,500 - R11,000. I know that these bolt in tower braces are not the strongest design compared to other options and I have opted for the Boss braces, because they do not require a 1" body lift to be fitted. I prefer to avoid the complications that will come with the body lift (I have read that the lift on the GU is not as straight forward as the GQ lift) and my rear coil towers are fine at the moment, so the fitment of the Boss towers is more preventative than corrective.
Cheers
Hugh

Hey Hugh,
Any chance we could have a local copy those tower braces before you fit them?

You've both mentioned taking measurements of your 2" lift, versus corresponding stock height.
Would either of you, or actually anyone, be willing to share both of these measurements?
I'd like to see where mine is sitting
I'm assuming the measurement is from the centre of the hub to the wheel arch
TIA
Adrian

Howzit, I just went and measured now. Measured from centre of hub to wheel arch
Terrain Tamer 2inch lift on 4.8:
Front - 610mm
Rear - 575mm
Stock suspension on 3.0
Front - 530mm
Rear - 530mm
Interesting that my front on my 4.8 is so much more than the rear. I wonder if the compensated springs we put in there (for the winch and bullbar) are a bit too 'compensated'?

Very interesting. My stock suspension is on a 2013 model, so assume not much sagging happening there yet. Quite cool to see your 2006 hasnt sagged at all compared to my one. Good quality these Nissans.

My 13 year old TJM sits at 558mm front and 560mm rear
Steel ARB front bumper with winch and rear BZT bumper
Looks like I am left with a 1inch lift

Tough Dog two inch lift is 590mm to 595mm ballpark on all four corners. I didn't measure super diligently. A while back right front had sagged and left rear was high but I've packed my heavy recovery gear and compressor etc in the left rear to level it out
