Hi all

I presume this is the shaft where the acelerator cable connects, if it is then it needs replacement of the sleave and shaft.
My 2.7td( the 2.7 and 4.2 have mechanicaly the same type of ve diesel pumps) shaft also started leaking about 3 years ago and cost me in the region of R950 to be fixed.
Wildaf diesel fixed mine, they are in Pretoria. I know this is a bit far for you Russ but I am sure you can find someone in the Cape area just to replace those parts.

Thats good to know Martin as this is the only problem on Russ's pump and mine. The problem is that most diesel shops in PTA don't do anything on a pump unless the recon the whole thing which is sad. I must maybe call them and get some prices

Cant find any Diesel Shop in CT that will do that. Just to pull it off and reinstall is over R3k. before any work is even done. Like Frans told me, diesel shops are basically a trade all on their own. So specialised and can charge what they want.

I wish i had a cheap answer to this problem... but i dont.

If i pay someone to pull my pump, i then take it in ,at a minimum i would have to have the shaft and sleave done as well as a seal kit i guess.... all the guys in CT will consider it a full rebuild and thats about 10k drive in drive out.
