My seat is missing this handle.
Russ, you can remove your seats handle and keep it for you. If you want.

Some pics of my gear-lever cover, as well as the hand brake cover . I dodnt have time to take it off tho. I'm literally been working 7 days a week for 3 weeks, pulling huge hours. Sorry Fanus, i know you want to sort this out asap. I really do apologise, i'm trying my best to get this sorted with you everytime i have a minute to spare. Dont worry, we WILL come right in the end.

The Auzzy boys keep telling me its a straight bolt in, for the chair as well as the centre console. I imagine if we attach the relevant screws along with the console and chair, then there shouldnt be any issues. Perhaps one of us may need to just get a bolt or two should there be any differences or fewer/ more required.

Ps: Looks like the whole handbrake, cover and bottom moulding would also need to be swapped over.

Russ.

Thanks Russ.

Only thing I notice, is that this "bracket" seems to be missing on mine.

I tried to remove mine, but it seems pretty much stuck on the handbrake. Did not want to use too much force though. Will try again later - hopefully I don't break something.

No, there's nothing under the felt.
Is that bracket not removable/ bolted on? Looks like it is not.

Edit: will check under the felt for holes.

Tinus donated his old worn (unusable) 3/4 bench seat to see if it fits. (Dankie Tinus  ).

Yip, all the holes are there. The seat does fit. :salute:

I am just still uncertain about the gear lever panel.....

Thats good news ! So all thats left is to somehow test the gear leaver / hand brake panels . And like you said, the hand brake itself would also need to be swapped over.

I assumed that you may not want to do this anymore since purchasing the Patrol Wagon!

I still want to swap... Just not that much in a hurry anymore.
The handbrake might also be a nightmare.. it does not look(feel) like the rubber bits can be removed from the handbrake.
Might have to remove the whole handbrake to swap.

Just an update: (been a while)...

I had Tinus' old seat covered(re-upholstered) and fitted it temporarily. Needed the extra seat, as my 4.5 got a stripped wheel stud that must be replaced).
The seat is not 100% functional, as it cannot fold to the front, but will work for now. It cost R350 to have it covered by a local guy.

The seat belt, I got from midas, is too narrow for the Patrol's seat belt buckle to fit into it. Might have to grind the bakkie's seat belt "clip" down a bit to make it narrower, or source another seat belt... or make another plan.

Does anyone have contacts with couriers to get a good rate? (I can still courier my old seat to you Russ if you are interested  ). We need to talk about your unused seat cover, even if I buy it from you?

I am still unsure about the panel around the gear lever, but am trying to source one from a scrap yard too see if it will fit. As mentioned before, it seems mine is missing the bracket with mounting holes on the seat side. But there must be a way to make a plan..
