We had a meeting at Bass Lake today for the preparations of the Nissan Club day of the Fundi Challenge.

The facilities are fantastic for an event like this. I think a lot of people think that this whole Fundi Challenge thing is just for "the pro's".... YOU COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG !!!!!!!
This event is like any other outing or event that we do every month, the obstacles will be no more difficult than what we normally do!!!! The only difference is that we will have those pesky pain in the butt conduit poles strategically placed to make you think a little more on how to get your Nissan around it. Do you need to be a good driver??.... hell no.... I mean I'm going to enter... :rolling: :rolling:

Towards the end of last year we had a club event at Bass Lake, and I think every body enjoyed it.... now the Fundi is basically the same.... BUT its only costing Nissan 4x4 Club members R100, or R250 if you are not a Nissan 4x4 Club member, and you get a voucher for a Borrie roll and a soft drink for the driver, co driver and passengers ( note - not a taxi load....ha ha :rolling: )..... so that's still cheaper than most events you go to and you might be on TV....ha ha. Oh and if you aren't a club member, that R250 will include a 1 year club membership.... use it, don't use it.... but its there for the picking. ( just by the way membership to some other clubs charge 4, 5 or some even 6 times the price!!!)

There will be a prize giving that will probably start at about 17:30, that will have a few great laughs, and some awesome prizes.

The nice thing about this event is that we are setting it up to be a serious fun event.... even for the family that may want to spend the day at the lake. You are welcome to swim, hire 1 man or 2 man kayaks for, if I'm nor mistaken R 25 ( single kayak) or R35 ( double kayak ). The restaurant is fantastic and can recommend the toasted chicken Mayo!!

I really look forward to seeing you guys at this one... cause NISSANS KICK DONKEY..... oh no... that's in our food.... :rolling: :rolling:

Cedric,
I see the rules state you need a valid nationals drivers license. This is a racing license if not mistaken.
How will this be handled.
I also have 2e stage free flow, but this don't seem to be a major issue.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Riaan, the National Drivers licence is the normal South African Drivers licence, like the K53, or whatever it is called now. So if you are legal on SA roads... then you are legal in the Fundi....

2 stage etc is no problem... Basically you must have the original engine in the car, or if it was replaced, it must be replaced with the exact same make, type and size. If you have a Van der Linde conversion, or a piet pompies conversion, then that is ok.... as long as the size of engine is the same. So the diesels with an aftermarket turbo, no problem. Unfortunately its the guys like Alex with the Lexus conversion, that is and allowed.... these are not our rules, but Fundi Challenge rules. They do this to stop the guys coming with heavily modified vehicles with monster engines making things difficult and unfair for the standard car guys.... and they have to draw the line somewhere....

So no excuse

Cedric, do you think we can advertise this event on the community forum. I see they have a Bridgestone event as well for the 8th June 2013 http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sho ... ridgestone

Open to all vehicles. Think it could be out at Rust De Winter
