No, I have the 2004 and mine has also been recalled. I believe some later year models are also affected.

No, but it comes with greasy paw prints and loose trim associated with any work done now a days.

Not extremely surprised, but the message from the VIN check webpage and the message from Nissan SA are not the same. On the VIN check site I am advised that mine is one of the few vehicles affected. But according to the local dealer and Nissan SA, my VIN is not affected and there is no recall on my vehicle. Go figure

The same story with me. Local agent even gave me a printout showing it is not affected, but could not explain why the website told me otherwise.

I have finally decided to chk and will give you feedback after speaking to the agents. Web site results indicate: Dear customer, We have noticed that you are one of the few people affected by the Takata recall. Please take your Patrol to your nearest dealer today and we'll carry out the necessary replacement at no cost to you.


Don't know if you have Googled what the Takata recall means: "Takata has already recalled 40 million vehicles across 12 vehicle brands for "Airbags that could explode and potentially send shrapnel into the face and body of both the driver and front seat passenger". This recall will bring the number up to about 53 million automobiles eligible for this recall."

Just checked mine and aslo needs to be replaced. How would you know if it has possibly already been done?

I checked mine a few months ago and it said I was in the clear. Checked again today and now it tells me that the patrol is one of the affected models 2005 4.8 GRX I will call the nissan dealer in polokwane and see what they say..
