Thinking of either fitting a replacement or going aftermarket.
Thanks

If you want to you can join the Nissan 4x4 Club at Kallie-se-Gat (near Magaliesburg) on the 8th of May.

Right at the beginning... went on the right hand side of the water crossing, but you have to cross over at the end by turning left. Went way too fast

and all the weight went to the front right hand side corner. Finished the rest of the trail with no problems!
After getting home I naturally gave the car a thorough inspection. The front right hand shock also seems a bit softer when i push down on the bonnet... dont know what it was like before as I didnt test this when buying... so dont know if it's as a result of the bump or always like that, or im just being paranoid (swambo's opinion!).
My exhaust also broke off its bracket at the back... fixing that this weekend!
Like an idiot, the cost damaging my pride by getting stuck over-weighed the cost of actually damaging the ox. Im still seething at myself.

Lesson learnt!
Not sure how much abuse a patrol can take though - a damaged shock or bumper I can live with. To those with lots of off-raod experience - just how solid is the rest of the car (chassis, wheel hubs, all the underneath stuff!).

No other vehicle - execpt a tank - is stronger than a Patrol.
