On the TD42's running a high boost a little white smoke is acceptable due to oil vapour from the tappet cover breather flowing back into the air intake. but this is always a concern, cause we cannot see the injectors functioning and sending the injectors in will almost always mean they must be replaced ...... even if they are still fine ( something to do with making money )

I say this tongue in cheek cause I know guys like Graham and Frans and I'm sure there are others that will be 100% Honest !!!

but its purely economics..... its easier to just whip out the old and chuck in 6 new ones. The car stands on the floor for less time, therefore quicker turnaround time.....

Errol, please keep us posted on this.....I would love to see with my own eyes what the popping preasure is of every injector.
I really doubt if the place that did my injectors set them properly

Rickster I went to Northern diesel in Pretoria and were told you hardly ever have to replace the injector complete unit(they actually advised me against it).They fit their own tips.You can take original tips from Nissan and they will do the job but then no guarantee.Took their tips.+/- 10k now without any problems.Total cost if I remember correctly was R5700.Can look for the invoice if you want to know more

Marinus ,I see the parts are labelled GQ.Will they fit on the 2000 diesel non turbo model GU as well?I am interested in the radiator hoses and belts

Dries I had an dis agreement with those people and I got ripped off properly......twice but will never be :mytwocents: :mytwocents: again
