Jo michael, dis darem ñ huge verskil tussen die pryse waaroor ek vanoggend op my rug geval het, ek moet head boute, head gasket, intake en exhaust manifold gaskets(steel shim tipe). Alles behalwe die head boute het so by R3000 gedraai. Maar so leer mens, die ex. manifold gasket het 2 geblaas omdat hulle die non turbo s'n was.

Cedric, those dunes truly look like an amazing experience. Those 4.8 's are monsters just a pity bout the fuel consumption though.

Part numbers: cylinder head: 1104405D02
:Exhaust mf: 1403654TOA
. :intake:1403506J01

A very interesting thing I noticed recently is that the UD 40 trucks newer model have the td42 moter, without a intercooler they call it the mo2 some parts are cheaper at ud. And 90% of the time they have stock. Slight differences on some exterior piping and components but very minor though.

So gents, heads off head luckily seems fine, head bolts and gasket definately not right. But thats minor all six cylinders show scorring on the sleeves! The honing marks arent en worked off!!!! I haven't been this negative in some time. Looks like new pistons rings and bearings! And either a good hone or worst case new sleeves! Any advise guys?

Andre, as far as I know the honing marks are the best to have on the sleeves. The honing marks are what hold the extremely thin layer of oil on the sleeves to allow the rings to glide smoothly up and down the bore. So that is a good sign in my opinion. If you have scoring then that is a little different. Can you take some good quality pics and post them here for us to look at?

Did you ensure that the open ends of the rings are opposite each other, in other words top ring split facing the intake side, and the second ring split facing the exhaust side, and again the oil ring facing thte intake side?

I'm happy for you that the head is still 100% !!!

Do any of you know how to post pics with a nokia lumia 920? It doesn't even give me the option to browse the images. With scoring I mean deep marks on the sleeves like seize marks. Don't know why this has happened. I haven't even done 10k.

The rings haven't even seated yet, all the honing marks are still clearly visible being proof that I haven't been driving the rebuilt motor long.
