Looks llike the Coopers All Terrain Extremes and no they are not very noisy, see different size side rubber nobbs that reduces road noise very much , pity they do not come in a 15" else I would have bought some last year

David

Steel bumpers can make you bankrupt
Custom bumpers can be much less, but without certified airbag compliance.
Airbag compliance cannot be tested / verified with a custom bumper, unless you want to reinstall an airbag after testing it.

Hi,

what is your opinion of the 4.2 liter TDI 1999 model, the turbo makes a huge difference in excelleration, fuel economy up to 8.5 liter per km.

Cheers

sorry ....still drooling at those Kumho's...... WWW WWW WWW

@ Arriewarrie...

The 4.2 with turbo is a great donkey, with a little oomph from the turbo. If set up correctly.... and EGT's are monitored, it will take you places you never thought possible. I've pushed mine onto the 140Km/h mark, but then firstly its a lot more thirsty, secondly with the roofrack and Kumho 33" KL71 muddies you loose a bit of power and exponential fuel consumption ( I would guess 1L/100km each). So if you want to speed around at 140-150Km/h everywhere then a 4.8 is your best bet ( and a big bank account for fuel), but if like me, you are happy to drive at 120km/h, then the 4.2 is perfect. Yes, you will have to work it on an uphill a bit.... it is an "old school motor" with ZERO electronics, and the turbo is more of an altitude compensator than power delivery turbo. ( only boosts 0.5 bar), although does give some nice excelleration...

The TD42 motor is unbelievably strong and over designed, but was for N/A set up. once you have a turbo fitted and the motor is not the "Silver Top" model ( early GQ model patrols as far as I know), you MUST have a EGT monitoring device fitted purely for monitoring these temps.
