1994 Petrol met 242 000km in 2008 vir R35 000 gekry. Geen ekstra's en toestand was OK. Geen roes maar n paar duike en krappe net genoeg om hom karakter te gee. Intussen R200 000 se petrol uitgery.

Hi Gents,
R85K is what I got on mine as a sales value from a prominent dealer. The great news for GQ Diesel's is that they are not registered in the Blue book. Most dealer I contact gave the diesel R 10 - R15 k above the petrols. As the demand grows for they vehicles the price will climb. Simple matter of supply and demand. May the price climb and climb. 80 series cruiser kitted sell for R 120 to R 160. I would value mine at more than R 120K and I have been offered this and more on many occasions. Steffansie you bought a bargin. That vehicle is worth every cent you paid for it.

Gents,
The Turbo that Steffansie and I have on was done by SAC, when they where still the Safari agents. This has moved to Baileys. Safari Turbo kit today R 43K.

Sjoe!!
I didn't realize it was that expensive! I must admit that when looking under the bonnet, the Turbo looks factory fitted. Very good!
Problem comes in with financing anything above book value, and that was something like R74K, insurance is also bit of a problem.
But driving the Troll makes me forget all the other nasty's

Grant, that was an impressive pic. Where was it taken?

I bought my 1995 SGX 4.2i Petrol with 3 speed auto box (brought to SA from the UK when the owner moved from London to Durban) for R40k in February 2010.
The 3 speed auto box was a real pain, could not maintain 120kph in 3rd, it revved too low (2100) but at 140kph it was much better. Max speed in 2nd was around 90kph! What a pain to overtake, specially up hils. Towing my offroad trailer was near impossible if there were mountain passes on the route, you had to stick to 70kph in 2nd up hills.
I spent another R55k and replaced the motor and box and fitted a Lexus V8 with a 4 speed Lexus auto box.
Goes much better now and also about 20% lighter on fuel.

1996, 4.2D, 168,000km's, stock Standard (the only extras are the bulletproof windows as this was a diplomatic vehicle in several rough African countries), one owner ---- R60k.
It looks brand new inside and drives like a dream. When I got it , there were a few minor niggles that needed sorting out (all of them simple to fix) but nothing too serious.
Let me introduce you to "The Hulk",we just did a Baviaanskloof trip with him and he performed admirably. Very capable on and offroad, pulls up hills at 120km/h with barely any slowing down. I'm very impressed!
