The BFG AT are a fantastic tyre for almost all applications, you've done well and i consider them a solid overlanding choice.. Yes, in comparison to the original BFG KM muds, they did last longer, ...however the KM2 currently sold by BFG has yielded massive milage, by all makes and models/Weight differences.

As an indication, mine are on 75 000km now and probably another 30 000 to 40 000 km left on them. Its crazy.Im very please with the result. Not a single puncture or Cut/Chip too.

As for wobbles, i still get a ever so slight shake/loose vibration at around 85km/h, but settles very quickly and is hardly noticeable.

Thank you for the advice over the past year with regards to the tyre shake. I have learned to live with it in the meantime. The best result came after 5000 km, when i swopped the front and rear wheels. The shake is not there at all speeds,so i drive around it. I am convinced that the problem is caused by the cheap steel rims. I have done 10 000 km with these Kumho muds now, and they are wearing at an alarming rate.(99% Tar road) I have decided to take these wheels of and use my standard wheels with AT's. I'll use the muds only on trails.

I fixed my Patrol's steering shake by rebalansing the tyres!

My Bridgestone M/T have done over 50 000km and it still in a good condition.

My horrendous scary death wobble was sorted by a car wash , had to go to 4 different car washes before they would "accept" my muddy trol

To be honest though I couldn't go over 60 and had 200km to drive...so first town had it cleaned.

I had a wabble at around 80km/h. Very irritating. After many tyre changes and balancing with short term success Micheal came to my rescue. He helped and showed me how to check the bearings. We found the passenger side very loose. We tightened it with a very clever tool made by Peter. We then went on to check the driver side. This one was ok. So I drove the car today and it was glorious. Just bear in mind my car has only done 38000km. so milleage is not a factor I would say.

My steering wobble was fixed by a combination of things. Loose LF wheel bearing, RF swivel hub bearings were shot as well as the RF wheel bearing got water at some stage and pitted the bearing cone.

Although balancing the tyres and making sure there is no mud caked onto the inside of the rim is often a cause of the wobble, often it is a loose king pin bearing and/or a loose wheel bearing. On mine I removed a shim from the top and bottom king pin and all was loads better. Passenger wheel bearing also needed a little tightening up, and thereafter my wobble was gone.... but still pulls to the left..... now that irritates me no end !!!

The say the pulling to the left slightly is normal and one should not try and fix it as it will put strain on some of the parts. The stearing wheel that is slightly skew as well. It should not be adjusted or forced to sit straight.

I dont know how true it is but thats what auto wheel told me after my suspention fit. Mine pulls a little left. Slightly. And the stearing isnt dead straight. But it was like that since new. It doesnt bother me at all. Just glad the wabbles gone.
