For me that is the big issue with the bash plate - for safety you need to have that recovery point available!!

In the light of the up coming training day.

You have covered the gear, what about the recovery points?

I have a PC bash plate and hence my OE recovery point is now gone.

Peter, have you maybe got a new design on these or does anybody else know of someone who manufactures them?
Piet (PC)

Dink asb oor hierdie een. Ek het dieselfde vraag, maar ook 'n moontlike oplossong.

Hi All,

I actually need a "Bosbreker" bullbar, and then the recovery points can be designed around that.

As always, Mr PC has a plan....

I have convinced RopeWorld in Cape Town to produce certified pull ropes, snatch ropes, tree protector straps, steel strops, safety straps, etc. RopeWorld will have their ropes and straps tested and certified at a significantly better price than other suplliers. I expect to receive my ropes mid-March after which I can present it to the forum. Once this can be presented I will put members in direct contact with RopeWorld if so required.
Since I travel to CT frequently, I am prepared to bring ropes to Gauteng without additional costs. Regrettably I will only be able to carry two ropes at a time.
Once I have the pricing available I will make it visible. RopeWorld will also make up ropes to individual requirements. My ropes will all be 12m in length as I believe that the extra length is important. The snatch rope wil be a 12 plait Nylon rope whilst the pull rope will be a 12 plait Polyrene rope. The snatch rope will be a 13 tonne breaking strain rope whilst the pull rope will be a 14 tonne breaking strain rope. The advantage of 12 plait rope is that they will not spin when under tension like hawser lay ropes tend to do. It would be possible to get Polystreel hawser lay ropes at better prices. Polysteel is suitable for for pull ropes. It would even be possible to order Dyneema ropes which is extremely strong, but very expensive. My safety straps will be Dyneema ropes.

Anybody interested, please let me know via PM.

Oh, and I am not going to be on the take. I will put you directly in contact with RopeWorld and then you can negotiate your own deal. I do this because I believe that their ropes and specifically their splices are of a superior quality than those that are currently on the market and for a better price.
