Oom Mac, dis 'n baie goeie poging daai. Ek dink egter nie jy moet my vra hoe lyk "goeie" taalgebruik nou eintlik nie. Ek is nie 'n taalkundige nie. Nou begin ek gorrel......
Pieter, you are aware that I solved my 4.8 temperature problems with the replacement of my radiator. Afterwards I did similar tests in ambiet temperatures of 36degr and my temp guage stays in one position as if it was glued to it - klaar!!! Therefore, I think that the 4.2TD has it's own unique challenges, something the 4.8 owners should not struggle with. HOWEVER....the 4.8 generates as much heat underneath that bonnet. It is scary not being able to hold onto a bonnet strut for example when opening the bonnet after a hard drive...yes it is true! I played with the same "cutting vents into the bonnet" thoughts lately. It just makes very simple sence. I want to support our idea by emphasizing the fact that the only real change in the car design between the 1999 - 2003 body shape and the face-lift of the later model, lies in the size of the engine compartment. The face-lift models has a longer compartment, stretching further to the front with a slightly higher bonnet shape. My guess is that this change in engine compartment design was done to address this same problem. Our older model's engine compartment are more cramped for space.
It should not be a big challenge to insert neat air vents into the bonnet.
