So here goes: I've had it done at E&O welding in Louis Trichardt. The guys there are very thorough and do the work themselves. If you want, I can get their details. This cost R6500. Which is not bad, with the 4mm and 8mm steel being very strong. I'm very impressed by the workmanship. I've tested it thoroughly, driving off a rock on a trail, and lifting it with the high lift jack. No worries. Had I still had the original plastic bumpers.....They also quoted me R8500 for a front bull bar. And the ones I've seen looks really nice...But mamma wants nothing of it. Damn!!

I've insured my 4x4 with Cross Country off road insurance. They are underwritten by Zurich, who also ensures my other things. The Patrol, with R50 000+ of extras specified, cost R550 per month. I've replaced the rear bumper, and my winch which drowned and died while recovering Land rovers for a full day in the Olifantriver. Lesson, don't take those guys with....

If anyone is interested in that insurance, please pm me and I'll give you my broker's details. He is brilliant and still R300 p/m cheaper than Outsurance....No sh#t. I am very happy with him and his service. If you drive off road, I feel that you have to have specialized insurance and specify your extras. We work hard for our money, and don't want to spend it on fixing bumps and scratches.

Hi Herrie this is very simple to do. Did mine in about two hours. I will give you the part number for the wire loom. The longest time is the cutouts in the rear tail lights.

Hi Guys, I am about to tackle this little project - does anyone have the part numbers for the wire looms?
Saves me waiting for the morons at Nissan 4 ways who took an hour to find me a radiator cap because they didn't have a Nissan Patrol on their system...

The looms are already there - you just solder the points of the wires from the lights and then just push them into the plugs at the end of the loom.

Which type of bulb holders did you use? is it a push in fit snug in the hole type?
