Fanus - I live and work in Midrand so if it helps I can pick whatever up for you tomorrow or Thursday and give to you at RDW. pm me.
The not having to get off the highway at Midrand should save you quite a bit of time and you could even go R21 from Equestria to Edenvale which should save more time.
I am planning on opening my 1st beer at RDW before the midday boeing.

Alternatively I can go past there on sunday to collect - it is a bit big to take with to rdw...
What would be the quickest route from edenvale to rdw?

Sunday makes a lot more sense. Fri afternoon traffic near the New Rd or Olifantsfontein offramps can be hectic.
If you can it also makes much more sense to do Edenvale first and be gone before the traffic.

Was thinking to take R25, R515, R567 (Bapsfontein, rayton), might be quicker than driving through Pretoria? (traffic wise).

No idea. Possibly PC or someone else in the east can help you there.
But if you can do Edenvale before Pretoria and Equestria you are fine. Arrive 16h00 latest.

Seriously. Leave earlier and do Edenvale first. 1 accident on the highway or roadworks at Gilooly's and we see you Sat morning.

K. Now I understand the predicament.
Your aim needs to be as north as possible as early as possible.
Assuming that you are coming in on the N4 and looking at google maps and knowing some of the traffic I would;
1, Equestria
2. Groenkloof
3. Edenvale
Going to Edenvale on the highway you can keep an eye on the traffic going in the opposite direction and make a decision on whether to go out N1 or back way.
Do Midrand on Sunday.
