Bought the head gasket and exh manifold gasket today at nissan! What a shock R2400 for the lot. So now pistons, rings, and sleeves are next as well as the headbolts any ideas cos the agents are a bit mal with the bolt prices.

Sorry guys .... I had a crazy day and evening at work, only got home late, and clean forgot to check the parts etc. I'll do so tonight as soon as I get home.

Just take note that there are a LOT of parts that are for the Nissan 2.7L diesel that are IDENTICAL to the 4.2, and are a LOT cheaper. If I recall the pistons and rings and precoms are exactly the same. Mine are 2.7 pistons and rings and thats why I have a spare set of rings as the 2.7 is a 4 cylinder, so had to buy 2 boxes of 4 sets of rings. It must have been cheaper to buy the 2 boxes than to buy one box for the 4.2...... just a suggestion.....

Right guys now you have to help me make the right choice, I can get federal mogul sleeve kit,R5850 autopower R5100 and motrex R5100. Quality wise which would be the best, all are keystone and alfin type.

Another odd worrying thing I've picked up on the injector pressures, all are different varying from 120 to 180! Having been supposedly done! What went wrong and could this have played a part in the damage?

Just spoke to my friend at Alert, he can supply Autopower for R3850 but they don't stock the other brands.
