Yes, vesconite (sp?) was one of the options mentioned this morning, however we were not sure of the flex it would provide.
That bottom bush takes quite a pounding.
Decided to rather opt for the poly-urethane casting, which they do in situ.
Only issue is that the casting has a 48 hour curing time, befor it may be used!

The Patrol must be rolling on Friday afternoon!!!

Will keep you guys posted.

I see there website is fairly comprehensive , so if you know the stiffness of both the options you should be able to make a good guess on the flex. Good luck.

Feedback on the new panhard rod bush casting:
After a long weekend in Jakkalskloof - travelling all the trails including the mountain rock trail as well as Easter weekend around Pearly Beach, Danger Point etc, the verdict to date is plain and simple:

Riaan from SB&S in Montague Gardens did a superb job! One of the cleanest workshops I have ever seen and so far so good as far as the casting is concerned.
It worked pretty hard at Jakkalskloof and I am happy with its performance.
Now lets see how long it lasts.

Cheers
Herbie

I am far from an expert on these things, but people who know what they are talking about tell me ever only use genuine Nissan rubber bushings in a Patrol.

The people who tell me this do not work for Nissan.

Hi Mrowka
And what they did not add (since they do not work for Nissan and therefore do not know) ... is that Nissan do not have stock and if they had, you have to apply at the bank for a second mortgage on your house to afford them!!!

We completed a 7000 km journey through the Kgalagadi and all the way around the Botswana delta during June - July and so far no issues. The suspension worked rather hard on the trip!

I have ordered a set of OME ploy-urethane bushes. Now on the Land Rover I stick to the original rubber bushes, but on the Patrol I am going to try the poly bushes. My reasoning being that the Patrol is a heavy vehicle and should be hard on suspension bushes etc, so I am going to give the poly bushes a try! In addition the Patrol is normally heavily laden and on tour, so lets see what the poly bushes do to the ride quality!

Cheers
Herbie

Odd that they do not have them in stock; even here they can be obtained. You can also order from Superior Engineering, FYI.

Good luck with the bushes.
