I have seen quite a few complaints on Hello Peter about the Foton. Specifically about clutch & gearbox repairs on vehicles under 20000km old.

Regarding the Cummins engine, just remember that manufacturers can use a name & build coppies under licence, this doesnt mean the final product comes from the original factory.

I'm 100% happy with using a naturally aspirated 4,2 as a gravel and off road daily driver for work. Mine are wagons though and I don't know what hours on end in the bakkie will be like

Hence me leaning toward a "SUV". Something that I could run a dual battery setup in, with a fridge between the front seats for the roadside refreshments. Just so much more you can do when you don't have a shortage of space.
