I have asked if a 35*12.5*16 and 37*12.5*16 can be made available. Waiting for a reply, which takes time I have found out.

I have had a set of 285/75/16's for around 2 years. I use them on my patrol which is also my daily driver. I have been offroad with them a lot. I have driven very harsh bush, thorns, rocks, sand, loose gravel & mud.
My vehicle has a roofrack, steel front and rear bumpers, winch and a heavy drawer system with permanent fridge and tools loaded. Its heavy.

Here are some of my comments base on the past 2 years:

The good:
They offer very good grip, especially offroad, in every terrain. I would even even say they are unusually good.
They are reasonably quiet compared to other MT's out there.
They are very affordable.
Tyre wear has been similar to any other mud terrain I've owned.
Apparently the guys driving dunes (which I have not done) say that they are exceptional on dunes.
I have never debeaded one of these tyres ever, in spite of driving in conditions where they should have.

The bad:
It's a 2 ply sidewall
I have had many sidewall cuts & punctures. after much experimenting, I run 1.2 bar in the rear and 1.1 bar in front offroad so the sidewall bulge is vulnerable.
Debeading these tyres to do bush repairs is very difficult because the sidewalls are soft. I've driven the patrol backward and forward over them to debead.... nothing happens. The hi-lift jack debeading method doesn't work on these. I had to use a combination of dish washing soap, tyre irons and the patrol's weight.

If one isn't doing the really harsh bundu bashing driving I often end up doing, this is an excellent tyre for the price. If you're driving sand and dunes, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them.

I have a set on my Patrol. Sliced one of the sidewalls on the river trip, it was my own stupidity, tyre pressure was at 7psi. I forgot how to use a tyre gauge ( not really I'm just dumb). Had BF AT's on before, I think the powermax MT's might be a little quieter on the tar. Unfortunately I don't really have much experience with driving off-road as I only get a chance a couple of times a year and then it's like a day or two at Rus de Winter, or Groenkloof.

Rims and tyres

What rim options do you have. I have a set of 15" 8J -40 steelies on at the moment, but only have 4 of them with no spare/s. Running 33x12.5's at the moment, and don't seem to have much problems with the 8J rims. But have been told I should be looking at 10J. Although many guys are saying that the 8J will be better at maintaining the bead compared to 10J. Hoping to do the move to 35x12.5 on the hardbody this year some time.
