Haven't had much time to attend to the leak problem, but nothings changed. A local mechanic had a look about a month ago, but couldn't find the problem. ANG are the go to guys in our area, but they're booked u till 15 Dec (we leave 10Dec), so can anyone recommend a mechanic in the Milnerton/Blouberg/Killarney gardens area who knows what he's looking at?

He is in Belville, but you better be quick as I think he will be way from middle Dec too.

Thanks for the replies. Already tried Fran's, can't get hold of him, plus he's a bit far. There's heaps of workshops in montague gardens and Killarney gardens, just a case of finding the honest one.

Try Mario 082 928 3210 - Hi is the "Frans" for the Isuzu guys in your valley, but I know he also works on other vehicles. Really good guy

Mario referred me to a diesel place. They quoted me minimum R4500 to recon the diesel pump. There's apparently two o-rings that need replacing (which would be R1800 to do), but they suggested that while it's removed, rather do the whole pump. Replacing the o-rings will be easy, but I'm guessing the removal of the diesel pump is not something a novice should attempt?

Removing the pump is 3 bolts, but you use lots of brightly coloured language to get to all the bolts....
refitting the pump..... still there will be a bit of colourful language used, but not as much as taking it off.
Does that price include a dyno to get the pump timing set up?
