Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Before I go for a whole new (used) suspension setup, I'm going to make a stop at a 4x4 place to find out whether the springs need replacing. If so, I'll contact those mentioned above.

Will the standard front coils/shocks work with an arb bull bar + extra battery?

A while ago Nissan brought out the 60 anniversary addition Patrol which was fitted with an ARB bull bar... and I am sure they did not change the coils / shocks.
Mine had a bullbar with OEM shocks and coils (original).... not 100% perfect but good enough.

Bottom line is ... you can go the deluxe customizing option and pay 20 K for shocks and coils ( or 10k for shocks only), or you decide to go with a second hand option which might cost you a fraction of this and might be sufficient enough for a few years.

Popped in at 4x4 place today. They reckon I should leave everything as is and replace the back two shocks only (OME). About using original suspension with bullbar, etc, they said exactly what Picasso comments here, "not 100%, but good enough".
Their logic was that buying seconds plus fitment will be a similar cost to two new OME's fitted (front one's are still very good), so I'll get more life and better performance out of the current setup than originals. My coils are apparently fine, even though they look weather beaten. The nice mans comment was to "rather not f*ck around with it and stick to what's on there" :)
