I think you must bide your time, after the last fuel hike there is somebody out there that's gonna skrik the next time they fill both fuel tanks up and then wanna sell

I think Adrians 4.8 is also pre facelift if I recall, but a beaut of a vehicle !!

You already got a number of opinions ... and now you get one more.

I have seen the vehicle you were so desperately after and I think you should be glad that you did not get it.
I did not think that this specific vehicle was so well looked after.
If you buy a 4.8 in that price-range than expect to spend immediately another 40-50 k "to make it reliable" .
There is, next door (to the place which had your dream vehicle (GWM)) another 4.8. They say its a 2004 (but registered in 2005 / face lift , also white with I think it was 214.000 km for about 170.000 Rand. This car is slightly better (if still available). It is not as butch as the first one but in my point of view mechanically better. The biggest drawback is that the dealer did a h.A job in repainting the car.

However I would also personally go with Fanus`s suggestion and perhaps settle for a pre-face-lift 4.8.
those two vehicle offered look outstanding.
The other point is that the pre-face-lifts interior ages much better.

I would equally go with Dirks suggestion to consider the 4.5 as well ..... especially if it becomes your bush- vehicle.

If money does not matter too much than go ahead and buy the latest 4.8 you can afford.
If you are on a budget, I would rather go for a pre-face lift 4.8, or even a 4.5 and have a bit of money left to spend on the vehicle.

I would strongly recommend purchasing a Patrol from a forum member as the history is known. Just search the members previous posts and you can see any previous issues/problems.

Even better if it has been maintained by Graham (Pathmaker on the forum) a full history is available. He will also check any Patrol free of charge before purchasing for forum members and if a Dealer/Stealer is reluctant walk away immediately.

I don't know about you but I would rather buy a vehicle with 300 000 km with a known history than one with 150 000 km of unknown origin.

Unfortunately, I agree with the other guys. You are looking for a premium but relatively scarce vehicle at a far-below-normal price, and in a short time as well.

I am sure any two of those is possible, but all three? You'd have to be flippin lucky.

I've been offered the car at R130,000 with a warranty. While I really have been looking for a 4.8 I'm tired of searching already and would rather buy an older patrol than no patrol at all. Would love anyones opinion on the vehicle. Thanks so much again, this forum has been mega helpful.
