Tinus it not only has leather (I will say the seats seem to be a slightly different shape and more comfortable) and sat nav but the engine has been "uprated".
It has only 50ppm stickers all over which the old one (2013) didn't and the dealer said to use 10ppm if available
I'm given to understand that the injection system is different but most importantly it has an eclectically controlled variable vane turbo. I can feel the difference at lower revs, more responsive than the older one.
I'm going to be interested to see if there's a difference in fuel consumption

Thats very interesting, I thought the injection system changed to common rail since 2010 and thats what it is today still?
Wonder what exactly they changed on the VVT as the old one was controlled electronically via vacuum...... wonder if it is now 100% electronically controlled?
Miner, do you think your new Patrol has more power than the old one?
Josh.....Help!!

Most cars with VVT today work on oil pressure and electronics to advance and retart cam timings

Congratulation Miner!
I am also looking at getting a second Patrol and would love to hear your thoughts on the new release. At that price and the current exchange rate I am sure that it will be the last real Patrol at such a good price.
On the Diesel.
Yes it is always beneficial to run lower sulphur content diesel, probably to prevent sludge build-up with the longer service intervals and the recommendation for 10ppm is to ensure the engine lasts for an eternity, personally I also prefer to put 50ppm in my TD42 to stretch the engine life to the max.
According to the new Patrol brochure (Page 12) Nissan website it is very clearly stated that it is 500ppm required and 50ppm recommended,
https://www.nissan-cdn.net/content/dam/ ... 202015.pdf
And maybe download it for reference!
I am sure that it would not be written committed to in the Website and every other place on the web that it is 500ppm required if it is not so.
So laat hy brand wat hy kry. Enige plek in Afrika!
