GQ Bonnets are strong. Just check that the hinges are in good order. I am also looking at a box similar the Alu Cab defender's. I intend to use it for all my recovery gear.

Dirk, the recovery box that Papa Smurf is referring to is a LOT lower than the width of a 33" muddie, so I think that "recovery equipment" bonnet box can work without hampering your visibility to any huge degree. I suggest taking your spare off the back of your Patrol and put a few soft towels on your bonnet and gently lay the spare on the bonnet..... go sit behind the steering wheel and take a look.
