Anders frek hy as ek dadelik ry, dis nasof die diesel nie lekker deur kom as hy koud is nie. Soos 'n airlock of iets in die system. :think:

Agree,

Get the oil circulating around the engine and warm the block up a bit before driving. I have been doing this on my Troll and never had a problem.

Migiel -- kanni onthou watter pitons dit was nie -- ALERT het van die rak gaan haal en Wessel het ingesit :-)
Wat die glazing betref -- onthou ook om as jy op n 4x4 roete is en jy staan lank en wag vir jou beurt by n "opstacle" .. skakale AF daai diesel want anders 'glaze' hy :naughty: :doh: :oldtimer: :surprised:

En ook as jy in die wille tuin vir die leeus loer.

Daar is nijs wat my meer die hoeners in jaag as wanner iemand nie sy trekker afsit in die wille tuin nie!

Pieter ek stem saam met jou. Dit is uiters irreteerend as daar 'n trekker in die om gewing is wat idle as jy na leeus loer. ek het self so stel af getrap met my lorrie. So moes maar net vinnig kyk en weer voor ploeter want as ek hom afsit start hy nie weer nie. Dit was my k@#kste besoek nog aan die wille tuin. Het dit darem oorleef.

Maybe I must just clarify something quickly. When I say don't let the engine idle before driving off, I was trying to make more of a point that don't let it idle for a long time. Yes start the motor up, let it idle for a minute or maybe 2 depending on how cold it is. Get the oil circulation around the motor and a little warm ( this doesn't take long).....Then get in and drive..... gently till at temp, and then drive normally. This is more for engines with Alfin type pistons though as these need more compression to seal better against the sleeves.

I made this mistake, like what Oom Mac said, and used to idle my Patrol for looooong periods. This I believe has had an impact on my motor. I think I have been lucky though, but I have learnt a valuable lesson.

I rebuilt mine by myself. It was not that difficult, except for the weight of that old TD42 engine. Not sure who would be the best in Kempton area, but the engineering shop that did the engineering work for me here in Alberton would do the complete rebuild for you at a very good price, and they know what they are doing too.

Ek gaan ook self oorbou , is net die engineering wat ek nie self kan doen nie. Het nie masjiene nie.
Het al 'n diesel oorgedoen so dis nie moeilik nie. Moet net daai skwirters onder die pistons onthou.
