Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Friends did Glen Oaks a month or two ago. The route is not maintained at all and everybody worked away with damage to there vehicles , that includes the cruisers with suspension lift and bigger tyres. I will sit this one out. Going to the Tankwa Karoo this weekend (8 August)and the end of the month(28 August) to Calvinia Vleisfees, so my budged is m@%rtoe.
Go and enjoy.
Go and enjoy.
Time and tide waits for no man.

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Thanks Vaatjie.
I think we should get somewhere else to go! I did it with five other vehicles about two years ago and the same thing, all of us had battle scars!
Any sugestions?

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Hi G-man and others,
What about Tierkloof - it's opposite Brandvlei Dam just before the prison. Nice mountain route enough challenges with a bit of sand as well - and you will definately not walk away with any damage!! And close enough to do a 1 day trip as well.
My suggestion for close by - any takers around the 29 / 30 August??

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Ok Guys there you have it - come along now lets get some Patrols together and go do some leka 4x4ing!!!
Like G-Man says it is really an awesome trail and one of those you can do again and again.
G-Man says he is easy with the date - so lets get this together now - Sat 29 or Sun 30th?? Come guys we have been talking to each other since this forum has seen the light of day and most of us don't know each other - it will be awesome to get to know some other Patrol owners as well!!
Lets stop faffing around and do it - I am willing to do all the arrangements (booking etc) lets just decide on the day now!!
Who's in?? I suggest that we all depart together from the Winelands Engen Garage on the N1 - say about 07h00 in the morning. Then we form a convoy of the ultimate and best 4x4's - and we can do a picnic lunch on top of the mountain :drinkingcheers: - beautiful scenery!!
I am away for this long weekend - leaving tomorrow (Friday) at 14h00 - but I will pick up again on Tuesday.
This is it - let's do it now!!!

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Dankie vir die admin aanbod Pieter!
Tierkloof klink goed vir 'n lekker day run!
Ek sien Saterdag 29 Augustus is die 4x4 Challenge by Dirt and Dust buite Durbanville.

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Ok cool, Tierkloof is always fun.
Unfortunately I have overseas guest here that weekend, so I can only join for a date after 12 September
Majority rules though, so if most people can make 29 / 30 August, then I will look enviously at the pictures!

I would also love to be there, but I will still be in Brazil then and in Namibia for the whole of September. Take lots of pics for us to see.

Re: 4x4 DAY TRIP!!!
Hi All
I am fine with 08h00 to meet at Winelands - but so far we have only 3 takers if I read correctly between the lines - me, G-Man and Saltman. We need more guys - so come on and get those behinds in gear - let's go and have some fun!!!
Shall we then settle for the Sunday 30 August??
