Hi Jules
Het my so 30 min gevat.
Marinus

Jules, 20-30minutes spanner-time plus 10 minutes plaster-time.
You will need:
12mm spanner (ratchet-spanner will save 5 minutes).
14mm socket with (very) short extension. (14mm spanner can also work).
10mm spanner.
Groundsheet
2 flat Screwdrivers
5 plasters.
A good supply of strong language to keep recalcitrant nuts in line, especially during the re-assembly process.
Work as follows:
step1: place groundsheet under car to catch nuts.
Step2:Loosen the four nuts holding the pulley and viscous onto the waterpump flange. (10mm spanner)
Step3: Loosen the alternator bottom bolt (14 spanner)
Step4: Loosen alternator top bolt (through the adjustment bracket) and relax adjustment bolt completely. (12mm spanner)
Step 5: Remove four nuts loosened in step2
Step6: Remove fan and viscous from water pump, and take to workbench (screwdrivers to wiggle it off as the viscous fits tightly on the waterpump shaft)
Step7: Remove four bolts holding fan blade onto viscous (10mm spanner)
Apply plasters as needed, remember to keep some for the re-assembly process.
Assemble in reverse order.
Voorspoed

Peter, I suppose the ground sheet doubles to catch the blood resulting from your spanner rash?

Hi
I am in Cape Town next week and can carry some bit and pieces (providing it is not too heavy) if anybody needs something urgently. PM me if you need something brought up to JHB or Pta.

Christo, there shouldn't be that much blood. What happens is that you tend to scratch the back of your hands against the radiator cooling fins, causing damage very similar to paper cuts. As everybody with a female in their life knows, a paper cut is the second most painfull event possible, beaten only by childbirth!
