Hey Tinus,

i think the 2003 were the last ones without a "cat" 2004 onwards it was standard from the factory...

If I am not mistaken...

I also think that by 2004 they had "cats" but that luckilly no problem yoy can rip them out and get more performance and i ave an electronic devic available that fools the rear O2 sensor into thinking the cat is still there

Does anyone know where you can buy a manifold gasket for a 4.5 except at the dealers?

Thanks Peter,

Opened the cover and luckily it is only the front pipe gasket.

This is the manifold that I had replaced (started this post). SAC did the conversion and i only gained 20kw. is it worth the money, I don't think so.
I will repair the manifold to spec and I will see if the time comes if i will put it back.

By the way no increase in fuel consumption still in the region of 3.5km/l. Must be the Patrol set up Tyre (305x70x16 Cooper STT), roof-rack, suspension and driving style.

This is my Patrol

Jaco, I think you have a management problem, unless your foot is really heavy.

I have a older 4.2 (less aerodynamic) with 33"x 12.5" tyres, roof rack with lots of stuff on, and I get better than that.

Tinus gets in excess of 6km/l when driving with heavily loaded roof rack and speedocruise at 120km/h on his 2003 4.8, although he is only on 285 muddies.

Thanks Peter

I will have the management system checked again.
Any suggestions on some one that can do a full diagnostic on my Patrol.
The motor was dino tuned and chipped by SAC two weeks ago and according to them every thing is in order.
I had a stage one conversion done against all recommendation from you, but the manifold was a bigger concern at that stage.
