Hmmmm.... yes well....I see now why the price is at the R135k mark......

Front bumper and nudge bar damaged.... I think a little front end ding .. :surprised:
Rear bodywork at back rear window (driver side) will need proper panelbeating :surprised:
Rear bodywork at back rear tail light (passenger side) will need proper panelbeating and new tail light :surprised:
Rear bumper also damaged and lights broken :surprised:
Body around the rear and a door or 2 needs some TLC from a panelbeater
Back large door needs a cover over the hinge
Driver and passenger seats are in need of a fair amount of TLC/repair
Center console leather in a mess. :surprised:
Spare wheel tyre cover broken :surprised:

I got there late so I didn't get to see inside the Patrol.... or get to see the engine..... hmmm.... looking at the way it was repaired after what I think was a small front and rear accident.... I'm concerned about the maintenance of the motor and g/box with such high mileage !!!!

For sure a fair whack of money will be needed to get this machine looking good again.....

Swambo is thinking about buying this Patrol..... but I won't pay anywhere close to the R 135k..... We will make a plan to go drive the patrol and see what the mechanical is like .... Probably offer R95 - R100k tops !!!cause I roughly am working on R45 - R50k to do all the repairs..... Please correct me if I'm out on this !!! :helpsign: :helpsign:

Even for less than 100k I think I will rather smile & wave goodbye - maybe if the km's were lower? - those small fixes quickly add up :surprised: and as you said the maintenance might have been neglected. Obviously you can get bumpers for less than R20k from G-Man, R6k for upholstery and say R10k for panelbeating but I would rather pay slightly more for a well maintained accident free Trol that was loved by its owner :oldtimer:

Jules.... we aren't really sure yet about buying another Patrol.... Its still just a ..... hmmm.... wouldn't it be really awesome to have the option of both petrol and diesel, so price is a HUGE issue as I use the Iron Maiden everyday for work... and if we get another (will be named "Led Zeppelin"..... :rolling: ....), it would be almost a spare, drive once in a while vehicle......up to Namibia.... in the sand !!!!!!!!!!!! ........ So a bit crazy to spend a lot of money on an awesome toy...

I saw one in Van Der Bijl Park last night... a 1998 4.5 GL with front and rear ARB lockers 4" Iron man lift and 35" rubber and 9000 lb warn winch... ..... has a few scratches and a little bump on the front passenger side  . Parking/indicator light broken. Price is also a reasonable.

But when I took it for a drive, after he told me it has just been for a service, felt that it had a bit of a miss when accelerating normally... my 4.2 diesel, I think, has more oomph than this petrol with 216 000 Km on the clock. I was a little disappointed with the performance, even understanding it has 35" tyres. It almost felt like the timing was out... there was a definite "hoes...poep" feeling to the motor. I didn't see any smoke out the exhaust under hard acceleration, and was told it doesn't use any oil. I was also told it was bought purely as a weekend 4x4 car. Interior is ok.... the center console where the radio sits will need replacing :surprised: .

Any ideas why the motor seems a bit "pap"??
