Cedric the shackle reversed. In other words, the suspension extended on a bump, and when it compressed again, the shackle pivoted backwards instead of forwards. The result of this is that it firstly bends the main spring blade, and secondly it stops against the chassis and limits suspension travel, which would soon break that main spring blade.

The reason for this happening (and thus my caption) is that the spring pack was bent in order to lift the suspension, which effectively makes the distance between the two shackles too short.

Great photographs, guys! Once again, mine are not the greatest (lack of photographic talent, I am afraid), but nevertheless, here are a few of my favourites:

Grant's beautiful Y60 in a pastoral setting
Image

Patrol's wherever you look!
Image

Have you ever seen this many Patrols in one spot?
Image

On the escarpment
Image

Winding up the mountain
Image

Rock hopping Safari
Image

Jules' Y60 climbing
Image

Thys' ZD30 powered Y61 in the same spot
Image

Donald's mighty TB48DE powered Y61 flexing a little
Image

A fantastic sight: Y60 framed by bush
Image

Chuck Norris on the way down
Image

Balele at the bottom
Image

Patrols swarming over the hills
Image

Grant's Y60 again, this time with Helshoogte looming in the background
Image

Some Y60 flex
Image

Helshoogte being vanquished yet again
Image

How'd Thabbies manage to lift it so high?
Image

Forming up...
Image

... and almost there
Image

Coming down the mountain
Image

Patrols outlining the ridge
Image

First timer Pieter having his baptism of fire in the tunnel
Image

Down the tunnel

Blue sky, beautiful mountain and Patrol

Heinz going up the step

Y60 Bling

Grant jumps the step
Image

Hill descent using the buddy system
Image

Andrew's Y61 parked on its wheel (Root cause seemed to be an aftermarket installer mistake  )

The sad result

Great Pics,

:coolphotos: :coolphotos: :coolphotos: :coolphotos:

Some news on Andrew's Troll. It is back at the installer and they are busy repairing the damage. He should have it back in a week or two. Many of us did not know that the troll has a different hub set up to all most all other vehicles. The only way we learn is from our mistakes, so I presume we have all learnt a lesson from this.
