For interest I have put this graph together comparing the power and torque for my Patrol previously and currently.
The blue lines was a dyno test done in August 2010.
The green line was a dyno test done in December 2010 when things start to go wrong, before the Weber modification.
The red line is a dyno test done on Friday afternoon "as is" with no tuning. The ambient temp. where the test was done was 45deg C, I dont think this is ideal to get a true reflection of the power available, as the Patrol is much more responsive and where I used to gear back on inclines from home to work I can now stay in 5th gear. I think there is some room for improvement with a good tune-up but are more than happy with the performance as is.
Cheers
Rudolph

After months of searching high and low for an air cleaner box to fit into the engine bay to connect the weber carb with the snorkel the end product looks like this (pictures attached). My first choice was to find an airbox from a TD42 or ZD30 which bolts in nicely into the Y60 engine bay with no mods necessary to mount it. But these airbox is hard to find second hand and new from Nissan is just too expensive. The second option was this Oval Trumpet airbox which is available aftermarket. The carb plenum was sourced from Carb City in Pretoria. Attached is a few pictures. Enjoy.

What is your fuel consumption now, and what was it before?
Thanks

If oompie can recall - some of the older make French & Jap vehicles had a flat thing-a-ma-jig the sat on top of the carb and extended to a box/drom type filter housing that was mounted on the fender bulge ...
Now oompie thinkx - if you can get a-hold of one such - fit that to the webers pancake base - get one of the blue hoses for turbos in the right angles - OR get Noize Boyz to make you the pipe [R100] - and then link to Donaldson & snorkel ... can be done [Lobo runs with donaldson ... it must mos work in your Troll too ?

Dankie Peter,
Will check the fuel consumption over the next few fill-ups. Needs to get a good tune-up again as well and hopes for some improvements.
Dankie Oom Mac, vir die deel van jou kennis en voorstel, maar dit is nou hoe hy gaan lyk en werk vir nou.
Cheers

Dankie Oom Mac,
Sorted out the timing and the air mixture this morning, now I can check the fuel consumption. The engine response is very nice on high driving, as if the engine is breathing alot better.
