Did you ever get the clutch problem fixed? I am not the greatest auto mechanic, but I second the advice of whoever said that if your Patrol starts eating fuses regularly, best to get to the root of the problem and not just keep feeding it fuses.

Welcome to the forum and may you sort out the niggles quickly!

Here is another possible angle for your shudder problem:
Does it only happen in first when pulling away or does it happen in reverse as well?
If so there is the possibility that the oilite or fosfor bronze (not quite sure which version Nissan uses) pilot bush in the centre of the flywheel was not replaced, ran dry or was fitted skew. A dry bush will cause a friction type shudder, Check with the people who replaced the clutch whether they replaced the bush as well!

You can take the bush out of the Patrol, but never take the Partol out of the bush... or is it the other way round?

Clutch: Still does the shudder thing in first gear. Now second gear as well. I have also picked up a vibration noise in low revs. I am at the point of complete frustration now that I put the music on really loud so i dont have to hear the noise. As for the shudder, I try drive different ways to see what works better for the shudder. I am not prepared to let the mechanics near my car again (the guys that changed the clutch) because it just seems to get worse everytime they work on it. So will have to fork out again to get it fixed properly this time.

Rough Idle / Spluttering: Idling needle stays still, does not move, but idling is very rough. Sitting in the car, you feel it and hear it. Almost as though the car is going to stall. Ikky!!!!!
I sent my car in to another mechanic, said that the power loss between 2 and 3 thousand revs was due to my timing being retarded. They fixed this. Was better for all of two weeks and has started doing it again, itermittently. SO bizarre!

Oh and the Fuses: have not popped again. Had an auto electrician have a look at car... found an exposed wire, fixed it and is all better now :)

Glad to hear that you got the electrics sorted. Where was the exposed wire?

If it was me, I would keep taking the car back to the people already paid for the work and get a laywer involved if needed

At one stage mine did on idle nicely and I found that some ofthe plugs were loose. Eventually found that there were carbon dust between the plug and the head so I vacumed it and put the plugs back - problem solved!!

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure where the wire was, I never asked (suppose i should have) As for the mechanics. I really dont want to take my car back to them, they dont listen to me. They insist that there is nothing wrong with the clutch. So i really dont know what else to show or say to them. It is difficult when he starts speaking in mechanical terms that i dont understand. I know the basics, but when it gets to the gritty stuff, I am lost! BLEH at them!

Hi Herrie, Thank you for your suggestion and reply. I had the plugs replaced and the bogi cords and had the carbon dust cleaned out as well. Maybe they did it wrong?

Kyk bietjie of die air-intake pyp vanaf die air filter nog heel is. Myne het met die branch 'n gat ingesmelt agv. van die ouens wat nie die heat cover terug gesit het nie. Baie sleg ge-idle omdat die air flow meter nou deurmekaar is met die lug mengsel.Gesmelte pyp uitgehaal en vervang met 'n 76mm staal pyp. Probleem opgelos en trek soos hy moet.
Terloops, die branch is ook uitgehaal en soek 'n nuwe eienaar ( R1000.00 ). PM my as iemand belang stel!
Ek het verlede jaar my Patrol se clutch vervang vir R3500, so die prys klink vir my reg. Net jammer ek het daarna uitgevind dat die Cabstar trok se clutch blykbaar ook sal werk.
