I've got a 2006 GRX with a 2" OME kit and I'm very satisfied. Handling on tar roads is good and articulation in 4X4 situations is very good. It's a nice and comfortable ride and even swambo has commented that this is the most comfortable car we've had yet when we did our Namibia and Kalahari trips.

My tyres are Pirelli Scorpion ATR 265/70/17 and when the time comes I will replace them with the 285/70/17 Scorpions. I've done ± 30k km with them and still plenty of tread left. They run very quite on tar roads, grip well in the wet and traction off-road is very good. When deflated to 0.8 they run very nicely on sand and I've had no punctures on gravel roads.
I would also be very interested to see any comments on fitting 285/70/17 tyres, though I don't think the 4.8 would struggle...

I have a load system in the back with two batteries but have bought a portable National Luna battery box for when the load system is not necessary.

Just a comment on a previous post stating that the odometer would show less mileage - shouldn't the speedo error be less or zero with the bigger tyres? Meaning that 120km/h on the speedo will be a true 120km/h? That would then mean that the odo will show the correct mileage and therefore the consumption will be correct?

Good day.
By law the manufacturer built a 10% speedo error in their cars. The speedo are out with the 10% error but the odo are spot on.With the bigger wheels the speedo become more true, but the odo show less distance covered. That can mess your fuel mileage arround.

Thanks Guys

For the suspension decided to go with the OME, and is on order at the moment. Will post how she runs after fitted.

Still no one with a 4.8grx who has fitted 285/70/17 bfg A/T's?
